History of Ziarat Balochistan

On January 13, 2001, under a notification from the Government of Balochistan, Shahrag and Har Tai were included in the Ziarat District.

Now the total area of ​​Ziarat district is 3062 km2. Most of the population of Ziarat district is composed of Pashtun tribes in which the population of Ka Garh tribe is about 90%. The district tribes of Karkar include Sarangzai, Panizai, Damz and Orisi Khel, while the Gar tribes include Raisani, Termin, Dotani and Syed. According to the 1998 census, the total population of Ziarat district is 80,740.


Heads of the Government of Pakistan have been visiting here in different periods. The provincial officials will reside here. ۔ The residence of Quaid-e-Azam, the founder of Pakistan, has been here since the British rule. Meetings of federal and provincial cabinets in different periods, conferences of domestic and foreign ambassadors, Pashto international seminars, poetry recitals and literary conferences have been held in Wadi Ziarat.The people of Ziarat Valley are very peaceful and noble people and they also created any problem for the government and tourists. However, it is a different matter whether any government or political party is interested in the development of Ziarat Valley. With the presence of the district administration and the cooperation of the people in the peaceful tourist center, the tourists are provided with the necessary security and time and thus the domestic and foreign tourists can roam freely day and night in a safe and peaceful environment. In October 2004, at a cost of Rs. 45 crore, about 90 persons were lost from Bostan to Ziarat


The supply of natural gas to Ziarat has been started by laying an underground pipeline. The Hindi Sarshaping Plaza was completed in 2007 with the efforts of the federal government. The construction of the Oak Complex and the completion of the Bypass Road (Merkler Road) in the same year added a new dimension to the beauty of Ziarat Valley.


On the night of October 29, 2008, there was a severe earthquake in Kozala Ziarat. The first earthquake image at 4:30 p.m.


The intensity was 5.3 on the racquet scale and the duration was 30 seconds. 40 minutes later another jolt came, the intensity of which was 46 on the racquet scale


This appointment was 70 seconds. About 300 people of Ziarat district were killed in the incident.


The Ziarat Valley received 3 to 4 feet of snow in the winter of 1993 and one to three feet of snow in 2005. There was also snow and hail on October 29, 2010 and it was snowing in the month of October.
